These typical biscuits
from the small town of Serrenti in lower Campidano are traditional fare
for teething toddlers: each bite is a little toothsome conquest!
Their playful shapes - cockerels, minute baskets, Catherine-wheels - are
equally joyful.
On the other hand, they also play a more stable and seasonal rôle
as Easter delicacies par excellence which each family offers
its visitors.
These feathery, crumbly little cakes with their patiently-glazed, filmy
coating of sugar become even lighter after baking. |
